Instrument Technician to join their team in Dover, DE

This is a 3-month W2 contract with benefits (contract-to-hire)
As the Laboratory Instrument Technician, you will provide hands‑on operational and technical support for LC-MS, HPLC, and GC-MS laboratories across customer facilities in Delaware, ensuring instrument readiness, preventive maintenance, compliant documentation, and reliable analytical operations in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Provide operational support for LC-MS, HPLC, and GC-MS instrumentation
, including startup, shutdown, method loading, and data acquisition - Support sample preparation activities including dilution, extraction, filtration, derivatization, reagent preparation, and proper labeling
- Monitor instrument performance including chromatographic stability, pressure/flow trends, vacuum systems, detector response, and mass accuracy
- Perform routine preventive maintenance such as mobile phase preparation, leak checks, column flushing, injector and ion source cleaning, tuning verification, and calibration
- Maintain accurate documentation of instrument usage, maintenance activities, deviations, and corrective actions
- Archive chromatographic data, mass spectral files, and electronic logs within customer systems
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with 3 or more years of relevant laboratory experience supporting analytical instrumentation
- Associate’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline with 5 or more years of hands‑on experience supporting LC‑MS, HPLC, or GC‑MS systems
- High School diploma or GED with 7 or more years of directly related laboratory experience in an analytical environment
- Hands‑on experience with LC‑MS and GC‑MS instrumentation
- Strong sample preparation experience in an analytical laboratory environment
- Working knowledge of HPLC systems and chromatographic workflows
- Experience operating in GLP, GMP, or other regulated laboratory environments
