Mental Health Technician
Location:
Dover, Delaware.
Available shifts: 7a-7p, 3p-11p, 7p-7a (all every‑other weekend rotation).
DOVER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM is a 104‑bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Dover, Delaware. The facility serves adolescents and adults with inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Over 10,000 patients receive care annually and the system has been consistently recognized for high patient satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to adults and adolescents with a wide range of disorders, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Monitor patients closely and conduct observation rounds, prioritizing patient safety as the top concern.
- Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients’ problems, needs, and strengths.
- Assist in the admission process, including vital sign assessment, safety searches, specimen collection, and patient orientation.
- Plan, prepare, and conduct group therapy programs for patients.
- Participate in hospital codes as necessary for unit safety, partnering with the Charge Nurse to ensure successful shift operations and maintaining an engaging, therapeutic environment for high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications- Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field highly recommended
- One year of direct work experience in a behavioral health environment, including leading groups, de‑escalating behaviors, and managing multiple clinical diagnoses
- Experience in an inpatient setting
