Position: 21st Century After School Program Assistant Coordinator (Temporary – Grant Funded Position) – 1 position.

Reports To: Building Principal and Site Coordinator.

Terms Of Employment:

  • Part-Time: 4–10 hours per week, pending scheduled dates.
  • 3:15 pm to 5:15 pm, unless modified due to weather or operational need.
  • Four weekly sessions (Monday–Friday) with up to one hour of planning time.

Salary:

  • $39.76/hour during program hours.
  • $27.18/hour for professional learning and training.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Program Implementation & Student Engagement
  • Support coordination of daily after-school program operations in collaboration with the Site Coordinator and Principal.
  • Create an environment that promotes enthusiasm, student participation, positive interactions, and academic success.
  • Support recruitment, registration, and retention of students in alignment with grant requirements.
  • Assist with supervision of students and staff to ensure smooth transitions, safe dismissal, and quality programming.
Staff, Training, & Resource Support
  • Organize and assist with staff training, planning, and coaching sessions.
  • Support scheduling, prioritizing, and facilitation of enrichment and academic activities.
  • Manage program materials and follow up with supply needs for implementation.
  • Support coordination of student transportation logistics.
Community Engagement & Family Partnerships
  • Coordinate family engagement events, parent/caregiver workshops, and student showcases.
  • Serve as a liaison with community partners to expand enrichment, recreational, and wellness opportunities.
  • Support communication among students, families, and teachers to build strong school–home–community partnerships.
Data, Safety, and Compliance
  • Assist with attendance entry, student data collection, and reporting.
  • Support completion of DOE and district-required forms and documentation.
  • Assist with program evaluation and grant compliance processes.
  • Support grant writing and partnership development when applicable.
Professional Learning & Summer Programming
  • Participate in summer planning and programming coherence as assigned.
    • Assist with facilitation of special events, field trips, and program showcases.
    • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator, Building Principal, or District Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    Delaware teaching certification (Bachelor’s degree or higher).
  • Experience with 21st Century Programming, after-school programs, or community learning initiatives.
  • Experience tutoring or teaching middle school students strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and foster inclusive, engaging learning environments.
