Educational Training Specialist - English as a Second Language (ESL)

Position Title: Educational Training Specialist - English as a Second Language (ESL)

Location: Terry Campus, Dover, DE

Salary: $45.60 per hour (up to 29 hours per week depending on enrollment)

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and/or teach workshops, seminars, and courses, employing effective communication and classroom management techniques.
  • Develop new programs, workshops, and courses, including syllabi; evaluate and revise existing programs and courses as assigned.
  • Select, maintain, and use materials, supplies, and equipment required for effective teaching and training.
  • Maintain adequate participant/student records, evaluate progress, and prepare required reports.
  • Provide objective advisement and tutoring to assist participants in successful completion of programs.
  • Schedule and post office hours to support participant progress.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to facilitate department operations and achieve goals.
  • Participate in meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Assist in developing proposals/budgets, public relations, and routine operations.
  • Assist with extra-curricular client activities as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of teaching techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of relevant subject matter in the discipline/department.
  • Knowledge of counseling skills and techniques.
  • Knowledge of community resources and access methods.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to develop rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to communicate subject matter content and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
