Campus Community School is seeking a dynamic, student‑centered Head of School to serve as the chief executive and instructional leader of our K–8 charter school, with a little over 400 students. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educational leader to shape vision, drive academic excellence, and lead a close‑knit school committed to equity, high expectations, and strong family partnerships.
The position will begin during the summer of 2026 (candidate must be available no later than August 1). The expected starting salary range is $95,00 - $130,000, but will be officially determined based on the candidate’s years of experience and credentials.
The Role
The Head of School provides the overall leadership for Campus Community School, overseeing instruction, school culture, operations, finances, and community engagement. Working in close partnership with the Board of Directors, this role ensures the school’s mission is realized through high‑quality teaching and learning, sound management practices, and a safe, inclusive environment where all students and staff can thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Set and lead a clear vision for academic excellence and whole‑child development across grades K–8
- Serve as an instructional leader, ensuring strong curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning
- Analyze student achievement data to drive instructional improvement and close achievement gaps
- Foster a positive, inclusive school culture grounded in high expectations, social‑emotional learning, and restorative practices
- Recruit, supervise, support, and retain high‑quality teachers and staff
- Oversee daily school operations
- Collaborate on the school’s budget and ensure responsible use of resources
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and implement Board‑approved policies
- Build strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and external stakeholders
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field (required)
- Valid School Leader certification/licensure (as required by the State of Delaware)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of successful experience in a school leadership role (preferred)
- Demonstrated success improving student outcomes and leading school operations
- Charter School experience (preferred)
- Visionary and strategic leader with a strong commitment to equity and excellence
- Deep knowledge of K–8 instruction, curriculum, assessment, and child development
- Strong organizational, financial, and operational management skills
- Excellent communicator and relationship‑builder
- Ability to balance long‑term planning with daily school leadership
- Full‑time, 12‑month position
- Reports to the Board of Directors
- Requires evening meetings and participation in school and community events
- Occasional travel for professional development or off‑site responsibilities
