Your role in our success:The Business Development Manager II, (BDM II) is responsible for driving growth through targeted business development initiatives. This role focuses on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships and negotiating contracts for agreements and strategic partnerships. The BDM II supports the expansion of existing accounts, acquiring new business and collaborates with internal teams to develop proposals and deliver solutions that meet client needs.
Additionally, this position contributes insights to refine the company's market approach, leveraging a solid understanding of industry trends and regulatory developments. The BDM II manages moderate to complex deals that generate meaningful revenue growth and represents the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Independently identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth in transmission and
distribution natural gas projects. - Lead contract negotiations for agreements and strategic partnerships with moderate complexity.
- Strengthen and expand relationships with utilities, industrial customers, government agencies, and
energy marketers to support account growth. - Collaborate cross-functionally to develop proposals and deliver solutions that meet client needs and
align with company objectives. - Provide market insights to refine go‑to‑market strategies and inform leadership decisions.
- Manage moderately complex deals that generate meaningful revenue growth.
- Represent the company externally at industry events, serving as a key point of contact for business
development initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of utility markets, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscape.
- Understanding of contract structures and negotiation principles.
- Knowledge of market analysis and strategic planning.
- Advanced negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop proposals and deliver client‑focused solutions.
- Ability to manage moderately complex deals and drive revenue growth.
- Ability to provide market insights to influence business strategies.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions within defined parameters.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5 years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, or sales within the energy sector. Preferred:
Experience in the Natural Gas Industry. - Standard driver’s license
