Job Overview
As a Registered Nurse working within the Endoscopy Alternative Pathway Service, you will assist with the development of a new innovative service for the Trust. A supportive training environment guided by robust competency documentation will be provided. As a member of the alternative pathway team you will contribute to the safe delivery of patients' individual care within the service and have the opportunity to train in and support the Capsule Sponge aspect of the service.
Day‑todayResponsibilities
- Rotate within pre‑assessment, admission, procedure assistance, recovery and discharge of patients undergoing Trans Nasal Endoscopy and bowel capsule procedures.
- Assist in the safe and efficient delivery of patient care throughout the diagnostic process.
- Collaborate with Nurse Endoscopists, Specialist Nurses and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Support the implementation and ongoing quality of the capsule sponge service.
- Registered Nurse, Band 5, with experience in an endoscopy or related clinical setting preferred.
- Good understanding of Trans Nasal Endoscopy, small and large bowel capsule procedures.
- Clear spoken English to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Relevant CPD and competency documentation as required by the Trust.
- Where applicable, willingness to obtain a Disclosure and Barring check and, for roles needing Tier 2 sponsorship, meet UK Visas and Immigration eligibility criteria.
