GSL Education are looking for a committed and enthusiastic professional Autism Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive and dynamic school in Tower Hamlets. This role focuses on providing one-to-one support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs.

Responsibilities of the Autism Teaching Assistant (TA)

• Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), using a child-centred approach.
• Assist with day-to-day classroom activities, ensuring the individual needs of the student are met.
• Implement strategies to support the student's learning, communication, and social development.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
• Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit the needs of the student.
• Promote resilience and independence in students through encouragement and proactive support.

Requirements of the Autism Teaching Assistant (TA)

• Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex needs.
• Strong understanding of child-centred approaches to education and care.
• Work on a 1:1 basis to meet the specific needs of individual students.
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive and resilient mindset to support students effectively.
