A welcoming and supportive primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from January. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a child with significant SEND and behavioural needs.
The RoleIn this SEMH Teaching Assistant role you will be primarily supporting a Year 3 pupil who is currently at risk of exclusion and requires constant supervision. The child is attending school on a reduced timetable and is currently being supported by the Senior Leadership Team and SENDCo. You will play a key role in taking over this support and helping the school develop a consistent, structured plan for the pupil’s progress.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEMH and SEND needs.
- Work flexibly across the school, including within the ASD provision when the pupil is not in class.
- Support students across all key stages as needed to access learning, engage with activities, and integrate alongside their peers.
