Cover Supervisor

Academics are seeking a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor to work within an Alternative Provision in Dover, supporting students aged 11-16 with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensure continuity of learning, and help students engage positively with their academic work in a nurturing, structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons to small groups or whole classes

Maintain a calm, safe and supportive learning environment

Support students in accessing academic work across a range of subjects

Manage behaviour positively in line with school policies

Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model

Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and pastoral teams

Record and report on student engagement and progress where required

Essential Requirements

Experience working with secondary-aged students (11-16)

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Ability to engage and motivate reluctant learners

Calm, professional and adaptable approach

Good communication and teamwork skills

Right to work in the UK
