Retail Parts Pro
Professional level sales position that supports advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and in‑depth part knowledge. Responsibilities include identifying and troubleshooting customer issues, sourcing parts from multiple channels, and managing inventory and maintenance processes. Position is full time.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance
- Key holder responsibilities: task assignment, safety, open/close duties
- Assist in store inventory processes such as truck putaway, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stocking
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facings, dusting, parking lot
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Friendly communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Parts and automotive system knowledge
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems
- Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
- ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing
- Advanced selling skills for DIY
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.)
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; write simple correspondence
- Follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Use basic math accurately: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel effectively
- Strong organizational skills
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
3–5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability in customer transactions.
Education & CertificationsValid driver’s license. ASE Certification Preferred, but not required. Parts Knowledge Assessment must be completed.
