Job Mission

The wiring Technician ensures timely and accurate wiring of lifts and lift components per Alum-a-Lift’s specifications and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean lifts and parts to prepare them for shipment per provided schedule to meet or exceed customer’s expectations.
  • Assemble electrical components and modules according to CAD drawings and photos.
  • Soldering and de-soldering.
  • Trains to be able to utilize various tools and equipment to clean and prepare lifts and parts for packing, as well as packing of the lifts and parts.
  • Communicates to supervisor when assemblies are incomplete, need rework, or any other issue that comes up that affect producing the lift for on time delivery.
  • Uses computer and manufacturing software programs to issue materials, report completed routers and view upcoming shipments.
  • Work in the department as a team member to produce products per manufacturing specifications to achieve or exceed the production, quality standards and goals.
  • Move and handle materials as necessary.
  • Perform routine cleaning to include sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down equipment, and participating in rotating schedule for cleaning bathrooms and break area.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly.
  • Perform any other assignment requested by lead, supervisor or production manager.

In this role you are required to act accordingly to the Piab Code of Conduct and know and follow the Piab values, mission and routines.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise assembly and soldering work.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of basic electrical principles and color coding of wires.
  • Ability to use hand tools, soldering irons, crimpers, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for wiring and component issues.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented attitude with effective communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in electrical technology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical wiring, assembly, or related manufacturing environment.
