POSITION TITLE:
Executive Director of School Improvement and District Operations
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To direct the development and implementation of the school improvement program and to supervise the activities of the instructional staff of the schools in the school district.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Level:
Education:
Master's Degree (Education Specialist Preferred) in Educational Leadership or Instructional Supervision with a commitment to earn a L-6 in 5 years and five years of successful teaching or school administration.
Certification/License:
Eligibility for certification in Educational Leadership prior to start date with a commitment to earn L-6 or PL-6 within five years.
Experience:
At least five years of administrative experience preferred.

Skills:
Communication, leadership, and extensive knowledge of elementary, middle, and high school instructional programs
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
Provide targeted support and professional development based on the results of the data coaching sessions and diagnostic instructional walkthroughs.
Provides leadership in the continuing development and evaluation of the school instructional program.
Provides leadership to schools in the development, implementation and evaluation of School Improvement Plans.
Schedules and directs meetings with appropriate school personnel to disseminate information, and to facilitate discussion and decision-making about school curriculum and instruction.
Acts as a contact with the Department of Education and other agencies and organizations for available grants, programs, and recognition programs for schools.
Attends selected meetings and conferences sponsored by the Department of Education and other professional organizations related to school instruction.
Assists with data processing and technology to plan and implement efficient systems for storage, retrieval and analysis of District testing information.
Promotes the program transition and articulation activities with other levels of the school system.
Plans and conducts meetings of administrators.
Facilitates resolution of parent concerns with the Director of Safety Management and assists when necessary with other school related concerns.
Participates in the design and delivery of collaboration and school improvement activities for K-12 principals.
Assists in new teacher orientation, leadership conferences and in-service day activities as needed.
Serves as a liaison between the central office and the local school.
Assists school principals in the area of communication with staff, students, community or other administrators.
Assists in interviewing and recommending candidates for administrative positions.
Responsible for assisting schools with state and federal regulations, Cognia requirements, and preparing and submitting appropriate reports and documentation.
Assists in the interpretation of the plans and priorities of the Superintendent to the school principals.
Assists school principals in the preparation of the local school budget as requested.
Monitors the implementation of all policies and regulations concerning school programs.
Assists and supports principals in planning, problem-solving, and properly implementing sound management and supervisory practices.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
