Purpose / General Summary

During this 10‑week summer internship, you will use your unique perspective and knowledge to help us find operational gaps and improve process efficiency in a way that makes a genuine mark on our business. Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the live Operations Team.
  • Shadow within the Hatchery: understand proper egg handling procedures, vaccinations, transferring and chick handling, and learn what each employee does in that area.
  • Broilers: witness communication with growers and shadow broiler technicians to understand their day‑to‑day activities; gain knowledge on housing and farm conditions/operations.
  • Breeders: shadow and work hands‑on with pullet crews, gaining experience in servicing, vaccinations, and weighing.
  • Feed Mills: tour the feed mill and see the entire process; understand the different types of feed and testing procedures.
  • Observe the Live Haul process overall and help unload trucks.
  • Complete and present a project related to issues within the rendering department.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a four‑year university or pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Compensation
  • $21 per hour with a $2,500 relocation stipend.
