We are looking for a safety-oriented truck driver to transport agriculture and construction equipment using a tandem axle flat deck truck or medium duty truck and trailer combination based in Kamloops but covering the Interior and beyond. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, takes safety as a top priority, has working knowledge of BC CVSE regulations, and has experience operating in rural, industrial and construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport farm machinery (tractors, compact tractors, balers, implements) and construction equipment (mini excavators, skid steers, small loaders), as well as turf products (mowers and RTV’s) using tandem flat deck or medium duty truck/trailer setups.
  • Secure loads according to NSC Standard 10 – Cargo Securement and BC CVSE requirements, using chains, binders, straps, and blocking as appropriate.
  • Conduct pretrip, enroute, and posttrip inspections in compliance with NSC Standard 13 and CVSE inspection expectations.
  • Follow all Transport Canada, BC Motor Vehicle Act, and CVSE regulations for commercial carriers.
  • Obtain and comply with oversize/overweight permits through CVSE’s Online Permitting System (OPP) when required.
  • Use proper oversize signage, flags, and lighting when loads exceed BC dimension thresholds.
  • Operate safely on rural roads, farmyards, construction sites, and uneven terrain.
  • Occasional yard duties and helping in the shop as required.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks using ELDs when required under federal Hours of Service rules (depending on vehicle weight and operating radius).
  • Communicate with dispatch, sales dept, customers, and site personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
  • Assist with loading/unloading machinery using ramps, tilt decks, or equipment controls when trained and authorized.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 (with air brakes) BC driver’s license.
  • Experience operating tandem flat decks or medium duty truck and trailer combinations.
  • Strong understanding of BC CVSE cargo securement rules, weight limits, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and secure small to mid sized machinery.
  • Physical ability to climb onto decks, secure loads, and work outdoors in all weather.

Why Join Us:

  • Competitive pay $26 to $34 per hour (based on experience) and opportunity for overtime.
