ResponsibilitiesAs a Med Surg RN, you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. Med Surg RNs perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Documenting patient findings and providing education and support to patients' families is essential to this travel nurse position. You should be prepared to:
- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post‑op patients.
- Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
You must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty, and lift at least 20 pounds (up to 50 pounds when required). You will work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.
Qualifications- ACLS, BLS, 1 Year
- 1‑2 years recent acute‑care experience
- Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. Total Med Travel Job .
