We are excited to invite a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider, either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to join our General Surgery team. This full‑time role is perfect for a highly motivated professional eager to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced surgical environment, providing patient‑centered care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Position SummaryAs an Advanced Practice Provider in General Surgery, you will play a critical role in both surgical and perioperative care across ambulatory and inpatient settings. Your expertise will contribute to delivering comprehensive patient evaluations and effective surgical care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed evaluations in outpatient surgical clinics.
- Perform thorough pre‑operative and post‑operative assessments.
- Manage surgical consultations and coordinate with surgical teams.
- Assist in discharge planning and provide patient education.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation within the EMR.
- Engage in multidisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in call rotation and provide cross‑coverage as needed.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification with eligibility for Alabama licensure.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Preferred experience in surgical or acute care environments.
- Excellent clinical assessment and procedural skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
This is a full‑time position with responsibilities in both clinic and inpatient surgical settings, including participation in a call rotation as part of the surgical team.
