General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are excited to invite a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider, either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to join our General Surgery team. This full‑time role is perfect for a highly motivated professional eager to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced surgical environment, providing patient‑centered care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Position Summary

As an Advanced Practice Provider in General Surgery, you will play a critical role in both surgical and perioperative care across ambulatory and inpatient settings. Your expertise will contribute to delivering comprehensive patient evaluations and effective surgical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed evaluations in outpatient surgical clinics.
  • Perform thorough pre‑operative and post‑operative assessments.
  • Manage surgical consultations and coordinate with surgical teams.
  • Assist in discharge planning and provide patient education.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation within the EMR.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in call rotation and provide cross‑coverage as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current certification with eligibility for Alabama licensure.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • Preferred experience in surgical or acute care environments.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and procedural skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Schedule

This is a full‑time position with responsibilities in both clinic and inpatient surgical settings, including participation in a call rotation as part of the surgical team.
