Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit at a 400-bed Level II Trauma facility in Alabama, with night shifts and an Alabama RN license required.
Responsibilities- Med/Surg unit at a 400-bed Level II Trauma hospital in Alabama
- 42-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- 36 or 48 hours per week available based on traveler preference
- Telemetry experience utilized on this unit
- Oncology skills including chemotherapy administration and monitoring are relevant to this role
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and port access/management are performed on this unit
- Former permanent staff of this facility are ineligible to return as travelers for 10 years
- After 2 consecutive contracts, travelers must take a 6-month break before returning (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Permanent address must be provided and must reflect residence beyond the 90-mile radius requirement
- This is a do-not-call facility — please do not contact the facility directly
- Active Alabama RN license currently in hand (AL state license or compact license with AL as primary state)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Experience in large healthcare facilities preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred, though highly experienced candidates may be considered
- Candidates must reside more than 90 miles from the facility — locals are not accepted
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
