The Teacher Assistant ( FLOATER ) position for Coleman Center is responsible for teaching in an infant, toddler, two‑year old, three‑year old, and/or four‑year old classroom program, including either co‑teaching or providing needed care independently; and this position reports to the Director of Coleman Center.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a group format
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of curriculum and child development
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships
- Enrolled in college coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field at a regionally accredited institution
- Child Development Associate (CDA) OR Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Previous experience working with children in a group format in an Alabama DHR licensed child care center
- Previous experience with Creative Curriculum or Conscious Discipline
Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility.
Work HoursFull time (40 hours per week)
Hours may be flexible, as needed, to meet the demands of the center.
