Job SummaryThe Teacher Assistant
- Substitute position is responsible for teaching in an infant, toddler, two-year old, three-year old or four‑year old classroom program in the Coleman Center when a full time or part time teacher is absent, by either co‑teaching or teaching independently implementing the lesson plans provided by the Auxiliary Teachers and Teachers, and reports to the Director of Coleman Center.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with children in a group format
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of curriculum and child development
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships
The position may require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties, but driving is not a primary responsibility.
Work HoursPart time (up to 19 hours per week), AS NEEDED ONLY !!!
Standard hours of operation (7:00 am – 6:00 pm)
Hours may be flexible, as needed, to meet the demands of the center
