Staff Accountant

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions, including but not limited to, financial reporting/recording and assisting with budget preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and values accuracy.

What you will do:

• Support the accounting department in the month end close process.
• Perform monthly reoccurring entries (prepaids, depreciation, depletion, etc.).
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial analyses as required.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitoring of budget performance.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of transactions and adherence to internal controls.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with external audits and provide necessary support to auditors.
• Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

What you will need: (Minimum qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing or construction-related industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with relevant accounting regulations.
