This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical systems on site through effective maintenance, testing, installation, and design activities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a commitment to high standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as Authorised Person Electrical (AP[E]), ensuring all electrical maintenance, installations, testing, and repairs are undertaken safely and in accordance with current IEE and statutory standards.
* Perform planned and reactive maintenance on a range of systems, including electrical installations, HVAC, emergency lighting, and fire systems.
* Undertake fault diagnosis and repair of electrical and mechanical breakdowns to maintain operational continuity.
* Support the design, development, and installation of new electrical systems and control panels to enhance site infrastructure
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems, equipment, and processes.
* Utilise the CAFM system and helpdesk tools to manage work orders, track progress, and ensure all activities are completed to the required standards.
* Prepare plans, estimates, and costings for upgrades, remedial works, and system improvements.
* Support the permit-to-work process, including issuing electrical isolation permits and managing documentation when required.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* BS7671:2018 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)
* Demonstrable experience in plant operations, planned maintenance, and reactive works
* Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings and technical documentation
* Competence in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Desirable:
* City & Guilds 6711 or equivalent qualification
* Experience with control systems, PLCs (Siemens/Allen Bradley), and automation
* Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
* MEWP license or willingness to train
* Experience in contractor management and knowledge of RAMS procedures
* Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
* Analytical approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
* Ability to manage priorities effectively in a dynamic environment
Salary - £40,000 + overtime and additional allowances
