Nearly​/Newly Qualified Actuary

A leading insurer is looking for a nearly or newly qualified Actuary to join their Actuarial Risk and Capital team. If you're someone who thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment where you can take ownership but still have plenty of team support, this could be a great fit.

You’ll analyse demographic and economic data, use your actuarial judgement to help set assumptions, calibrate capital stresses for the internal model, and report on the findings. You’ll also get involved in change and capital projects and have opportunities to coach and mentor actuarial students.

Someone nearly qualified (1‑2 exams to go) or newly qualified (up to 3 years post‑qualification).

If you’re from GI or Pensions and want to switch to Life insurance, that’s welcome – this client has had great success with people making this move.

Already in Life insurance? Group risk experience might offer a fresh perspective.

Good knowledge of Solvency II and UK regulatory requirements.

Strong communication skills to support junior actuaries and present clearly to senior managers.

A keen interest in learning, challenging methodologies, and delivering across different tasks.

Salary will depend on your exam progression and experience.
