Admissions Assistant
Surrey 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
40 hours per week Term Time + 3 Weeks (42 weeks)
FTE 27,943 Actual Salary 25,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly opened specialist school as an Admissions Assistant, supporting the team responsible for welcoming new pupils and families into the school community.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will help coordinate the admissions and transition process, ensuring prospective pupils and their families experience a smooth and supportive journey from initial enquiry through to joining the school.

The Role
  • Supporting the admissions team with day-to-day administrative tasks

  • Acting as a key point of contact for prospective parents and responding to enquiries via phone and email

  • Coordinating school tours, open events, induction mornings and transition activities

  • Preparing information packs and documentation for new pupils and their families

  • Organising assessments, meetings and consultations with parents, schools and professionals

  • Maintaining accurate admissions data and records on school systems

  • Liaising with local authorities in line with EHCP consultation time frames

  • Supporting the transition process for new pupils joining the school

  • Managing uniform arrangements for new starters and maintaining stock

About You
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with families and colleagues

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment

  • Strong IT skills, ideally including Google Workspace or school MIS systems

  • A calm, empathetic and professional approach when dealing with sensitive information

  • Experience in administration or customer-facing roles (education experience beneficial but not essential)
