Transport Planner

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Transport Planner to join Doncaster Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and delivery of transport strategies, policies, and programmes

• Review and assess Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans as part of the planning process

• Provide professional transport and highways advice to planning colleagues, developers, and stakeholders

• Represent the Strategic Transport function at Planning Committee meetings

• Manage consultation processes on planning applications

• Represent the authority at regional and national meetings and forums

• Maintain and strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

• Support the management of capital and revenue budgets and monitor programme delivery

• Manage, monitor, and review the performance of contractors and suppliers

Requirements:

• Degree in Transport Planning, Town Planning, or a related discipline

• Strong knowledge of transport policy, planning legislation, highways standards, and development management processes

• Proven experience of reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans
