Class 2 Delivery Driver

Position

Class 2 Home delivery Driver at a multi‑national DIY and building materials supplier.

• £15.00 per hour PAYE.
• Overtime: £22.50 per hour after 9 hours per shift Monday–Friday and all day Saturday.
• Sunday or Bank Holiday work: £30.00 per hour.

• 5 and 6 over 7 days.
• Contracted shift: 9 hours with a 1‑hour break (paid for a minimum of 8 hours).
• Flexible to start 07:00 am or 11:00 am.

You will work in a double‑manned team, delivering building and home DIY products to customers’ houses. Vehicles used are 7.5 tonne or 10 tonne box waggons with a tail lift. After completing the first 40 hours you will receive 2‑days of training.

Daily responsibilities include arriving on site on time, completing a 15‑minute walk‑around, helping your partner load the vehicle with runs for the day, loading/unloading both palletised and hand‑ball items, and providing customer‑facing service while delivering.

Deliveries typically range from 10 to 15 per day, along with inter‑store collections and returns.

Safety is paramount. As a driver you must be vigilant in safeguarding goods, other road users, and your own safety while loading and driving. You will also represent the company with a customer‑oriented approach.

• Full and valid Class 2 licence (minimum 12–15 months with no gaps).
• No more than 6 points on licence and no DR, DD, IN, CD or similar endorsements.
• Valid Tacho card and in‑date CPC qualification with card.
• Experience in the home delivery sector is an advantage but not essential.
• Accessibility to both Doncaster and Dearne Valley (desired).
