We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on‑site Electrician in HMP Lindholme, Bawtry Rd, Hatfield Woodhouse, Hatfield, Doncaster DN7 6EE
.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week:
Monday‑Thursday 07:30‑16:30, Friday 07:30‑15:30. An additional allowance of 15 % of basic salary applies for working 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis.
- Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
- Actively fault‑find and problem‑solve on electrical systems across the prison.
- Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other minor electrical works with relevant inspections and tests carried out, results recorded in accordance with BS 7671.
- Ensure that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively to create a secure environment for staff and residents.
- Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person when requested.
- Ensure Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are consistently implemented and followed.
- Assist with escorting duties and other duties as required.
- City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
- BS 7671 18th Edition (17th Edition acceptable with upskilling to 18th).
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
- Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
- Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
- Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Able to work at heights, independently and use initiative.
- Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems (desirable).
- Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Basic IT skills.
