Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to lead growth across our racking, shelving, and wider storage solutions portfolio. This role is
based at our Doncaster office
, with a proportion of time spent
travelling to customer sites across the surrounding areas and cities
. This role suits a commercially minded professional with a strong understanding of warehouse operations, storage systems, and project-based sales. The successful candidate will play a key part in expanding our customer base, nurturing long-term client relationships, and delivering high-quality solutions that align with our brand reputation.
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, retail, education, and commercial sectors.
- Generate qualified leads through targeted outreach, networking, and territory management.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate racking, shelving, and storage systems.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Manage customer enquiries efficiently, providing technical guidance and tailored solutions.
- Develop account growth plans and maintain regular communication with key contacts.
- Prepare and deliver professional proposals, quotations, drawings and tender responses.
- Present storage solutions confidently to decision-makers at all levels.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets, contributing directly to business growth.
- Develop a strong understanding of pallet racking systems (e.g., adjustable, drive-in, push-back, cantilever).
- Understand shelving systems, mezzanine floors, partitioning, and wider warehouse optimisation products.
- Carry out basic site surveys, measure spaces, and interpret technical drawings.
- Ensure compliance with SEMA guidelines, PUWER, and relevant health and safety considerations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, and forecasting updates.
- Provide clear monthly reports on activity, opportunities, and performance.
- Attend internal sales meetings and contribute to strategy discussions.
- Proven experience in B2B sales within the racking, shelving, storage, or warehouse equipment industry.
- Strong technical understanding of storage systems with the ability to translate requirements into solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Confident in conducting site visits and working safely in warehouse environments.
- Self-motivated, organised, and driven to exceed sales targets.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel around Doncaster and the surrounding cities.
- Experience working with contractors, FM providers, or procurement teams.
- Background in project-based or solution-based selling.
