37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 14:30
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join the catering team at Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive NHS environment, delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that support patient care and staff wellbeing.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook meals according to standard recipes, ensuring portion control and consistent quality
* Monitor and maintain food safety and hygiene, including temperature checks
* Operate kitchen equipment and machinery safely
* Serve customers from retail outlets and support function catering for departments
* Receive deliveries, rotate stock, and ensure proper storage of supplies
* Promote catering outlets to help meet income targets
Requirements
* Food Safety Level 2 and relevant catering qualification ( City & Guilds 706/1,or Level 2 NVQ in Food Production and Cooking)
* Large-scale catering or kitchen experience
* Ability to prepare and cook meals to standard recipes and portion control
* Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen safety
* Teamwork and excellent communication skills
