Position: Assistant Production Manager (Permanent)
Job Title:

Assistant Production Manager

Location:

Doncaster – Stainforth (DN7)

Salary: £35,360 / £17.00 p/h (DOE)

Shift: Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm

Hours:

45 Hours Per Week – 1 Hour Paid Lunch Per Day

Key Assistant Production Manager Responsibilities:

* Support daily production across multiple lines

* Help achieve output, efficiency and quality targets

* Adjust schedules and workflow to meet demand

* Reduce downtime and improve productivity

* Maintain food safety, hygiene and GMP standards

* Monitor CCPs and support audit readiness

* Supervise and support line leaders and operatives

* Deliver shift briefings and on-the-job training

* Coordinate raw materials and packaging availability

* Monitor waste and drive improvement initiatives

* Liaise with engineering on maintenance and breakdowns

* Maintain accurate production and performance records

Key Assistant Production Manager Requirements:

Essential Requirements:

* Previous experience within FMCG production

* Strong understanding of quality standards (HACCP / GMP)

* Proven supervisory or team leadership experience on a production floor

* Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

* Good communication and organisational skills

* Practical problem-solving ability and attention to detail

Desired Requirements:

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement principles

* Experience supporting audits or compliance processes

* Exposure to multi-line or high-volume production environments

* Relevant qualification in Food Science, Manufacturing, Engineering or similar

* Ambition to progress into senior production or operations management
