About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Coach Builder to join a well-established vehicle conversion and manufacturing team based in Doncaster. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working on bespoke and production-line vehicle conversions, delivering high-quality builds to exact customer and safety specifications.
This role would suit an individual with strong fabrication, fitting, and assembly skills who is comfortable working with a variety of vehicle structures and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all aspects of coach building, including fabrication, fitting, trimming, and final assembly
Install interior and exterior components such as panels, flooring, seating, bulkheads, racking, and specialist equipment
Modify vehicle bodies and structures in line with engineering drawings and build specifications
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
Work with materials including aluminium, steel, GRP, plywood, and composite materials
Assist with fitting electrical components in collaboration with auto electricians (lighting, switches, ancillary equipment)
Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards
Identify and resolve build issues or defects during the conversion process
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety regulations Essential Requirements
Previous experience as a Coach Builder, Vehicle Converter, Fabricator, or similar role
Strong hands-on skills in fabrication, fitting, and assembly
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and build instructions
Confident using a wide range of workshop tools and equipment
Good understanding of vehicle structures and conversion processes
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in specialist vehicle conversions
Welding or fabrication qualifications
Basic electrical knowledge
Experience with CNC machinery, woodworking, or composite materials Benefits
