This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s Facilities Management Team and contribute to the provision of a high-quality facilities service for a portfolio of buildings, to meet the needs of the service and customers.
The post holder will be part of a technician’s team, working at various sites, with a work base currently at Civic Office dependent on post and service needs.
The post is permanent, full-time (37 hours) over 5 days. There is also a requirement to work additional hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all building users.
- Undertake statutory testing/inspections and report results to line manager.
- Perform preventative maintenance and non-specialist repairs.
- Handle furniture erection, moves, and minor decorative works.
- Conduct ground maintenance at premises as required.
- Maintain statutory records for all health and safety matters including fire safety, electricity, and water.
- Support the Senior Technician as required.
- Experience working in a customer facing environment and handling difficult situations.
- Knowledge of health and safety issues relating to facilities management.
- Technical background and understanding of facilities management operations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and possess a full driving licence.
