The role of Service Assistant plays a key part of our patient experience. The successful candidate will work with our Service Assistants and will be jointly responsible for the cleanliness of Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

This is a physically demanding role with elements of reaching, crouching, operating cleaning equipment & mopping large surfaces etc, therefore candidates for this post are required to be relatively physically fit.

Person Specification Qualifications & Training
  • Numerate and literate
  • Communicates clearly in writing
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Evidence of development, skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Experience of using software systems
Knowledge & Experience
  • Evidence of researching Service Assistant role
  • Previous experience of professional cleaning, catering, portering services, working with the public, e.g., customer services, retail
  • Experience/knowledge of Decontamination, e.g., Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour/UVA
Personal Attributes & Skills
  • Can communicate verbally with others clearly & courteously
  • Polite, reliable, responsible
  • Understands how to maintain good working relationships
  • Knowledge of customer care skills
