Position: Health Care Assistant Bank (MH Inpatient) - Band 3

The role of the Bank Health Care Assistant is varied, challenging, and rewarding. It requires a positive outlook and an ability to develop and maintain a meaningful therapeutic relationship with the service users., Work under the supervision/direction of registered health care professionals/associate practitioner, within a delegated framework for agreed tasks, be aware of and able to address the basic, routine psychological and physical needs of a defined group of people.

Work as part of a healthcare team, provide the highest standards of safe and compassionate planned care to people that maximises their recovery and rehabilitation potential.

Ensure the care experienced is positive and service user safety is maintained. Treat everyone, eg, service users, their relatives, visitors, colleagues etc, with respect, dignity and courtesy and in accordance with the Trusts Values.

Follow and ensure care is provided in accordance with well-established policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and established clinical care plans.

Undertake the physical aspects of care eg, moving and handling of service users. Use items of equipment in delivering care eg, hoists, wheelchairs etc, ensuring appropriate instruction on their use has been received.

Be required to concentrate for periods of time, depending upon the care intervention/care plan eg, following the observation policy, taking, recording of physical observations etc, and raising issues of concern appropriately.
