Senior Respite Support Worker - Local Authority
- Annual Salary: £28,132 plus 8.5% shift allowance

Join our dedicated team as a Senior Respite Support Worker, managing the day-to-day operations of Eden Lodge and Wickett Hern Rd. This role is crucial in providing high-quality short-stay services that meet Care Quality Commission standards. We are seeking a calm, resourceful, and energetic individual with a passion for person-centred care, supporting individuals with dignity, choice, and independence.
Day to Day of the Role- Oversee daily care and support, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and comfort.
- Implement person-centred support plans to help individuals make informed choices.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed for adults at risk.
- Participate in handovers, meetings, and reviews; supervise and mentor staff.
- Support individuals with daily living needs including personal care, nutrition, and social activities.
- Encourage independence through leisure and community activities.
- Manage staff schedules and maintain service standards.
- Take overall responsibility for the service in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Skills & Qualifications
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (Level 4 desirable).
- Experience in health & social care, particularly with learning disabilities/ADHD.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, medication processes, and care planning.
- Ability to work under pressure, lone work, and use IT systems.
- Strong communication and team-working skills.
- Desirable:
Experience with dementia, challenging behaviours, and positive behaviour support. Knowledge of national health and social care strategies.
- Competitive salary with 8.5% shift allowance.
- Structured shift patterns with every other weekend working.
- 4-week rota published in advance.
