The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) is a registered charity that has been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years. It operates in partnership with Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), combining NHS provision with voluntary sector expertise to deliver responsive, flexible services to local communities.
Role OverviewThe Open Access and Assessment (OAT) team provides advice, brief interventions, structured assessments, and a needle‑exchange service to people entering the treatment system. The successful candidate will support these activities, working closely with recovery communities to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users.
Responsibilities- Deliver brief interventions and structured assessments to individuals seeking help with substance misuse.
- Support the needle exchange service and manage related community outreach.
- Work collaboratively with NHS staff and voluntary partners to provide integrated care.
- Managerial experience in a substance‑misuse or related field.
- Relevant degree – psychology, sociology, social work, Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent; L3 Tackling Substance Misuse or equivalent preferred.
- For those without formal qualifications, ADS offers a comprehensive package of accredited training and supports the ASYE programme for newly qualified Social Workers.

Full‑Time - Experience required: managerial
- Vacancy: 1
- Salary: £25,905 – £31,611 per annum (depending on experience)
- Annual leave: 29 days rising to 31 after 2 years and 34 after 5 years, plus public holidays
