General Practice Nurse (maternity cover)
An innovative and forward-thinking, medium-sized practice is looking for a motivated, proactive and dedicated Nurse with General Practice Experience to join the team. The Role is for 30 hours per week.
The successful candidate will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing medical services to a wide range of patients at the practice.
We need someone who will work as part of the team to bring ideas and solutions to everyday problems and have a passion for caring for everyone.
Main duties of the jobResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the GP
- Cytology
- Wound Care (level 1 &
2) - Asthma/COPD reviews
- Diabetes Management
- Routine and childhood vaccinations (including baby vaccines)
- Request pathology tests
- CHD management
- CVD management
- Contraception and family planning
- Stock ordering and monitoring
- Maintenance of the administrative records
- Report potential problems or errors
- Attend practice meetings
- Remain up to date with qualifications and complete further training
- Proactively look at improving systems and services for the practice and patients
- Other delegated duties to the post.
We are a friendly, hard working and forward-thinking practice. We work hard to collaborate with other organisations in our Primary Care Network and are seen as leaders in our area.
We have 2 ANP's , 2 Practice Nurses and 2 HCA's.
We are a training practice with 6 partners, 2 salaried GP and up to 12 registrars at any time.
We are looking for someone with energy, ideas and enthusiasm who is willing to chip in and move the practice forward with its approach to care; for our patients both in the practice and in the community.
Job responsibilitiesAs part of the practice team, our patients expect to be able to entrust you with or allow us to gather sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately.
You will implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of their own and others' health and safety and infection control.
You will support the equality, diversity, and rights of patients, carers, and colleagues.
You will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment.
You will strive to maintain the quality within the practice, which awarded us outstanding at our last CQC inspection.
You will recognise and strive to maintain effective communication within the team so that we can learn and share together.
Person Specification Experience- Experience of working in General Practice.
- Experience of working in Primary Care
- Working within a nursing team where your daily work was varied and used multiple nursing skills and qualifications which are relevant and transferable to General practice.
- Can demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, which lead to a fast building of rapport.
- Experience in working with Systmone
- Experience in working with Ardens templates
- Asthma/COPD certificate or diploma
- Diabetes management certificate or diploma
- Wound Care Tier 1 and 2 certificates according to Doncaster Tvals
- Cytology certificate and can carry out swabs and smears
