As SOCOTEC continues to expand, we’re looking for a reliable and committed Asbestos Surveyor to join our Environment & Safety Division and wear the badge with pride. We’re seeking a proactive, adaptable professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team. In this role, you’ll be key in surveying buildings, collecting samples, and identifying asbestos‑containing materials to help ensure the safety of workplaces and communities.

• Undertake asbestos surveys, record site data, and submit reports on time.
• Maintain equipment, ensuring cleanliness, calibration and proper records.
• Liaise with clients, project managers and colleagues to deliver projects to agreed timescales.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and quality standards.

• Must hold BOHS P402 qualifications (or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Surveying).
• Industry experience essential with proven track record of conducting a similar role.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Competent with IT software, particularly mobile applications used for survey data collection.
• Good client‑facing skills – confident in liaising with contractors, project managers and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection/report writing.
• Time management and ability to meet project deadlines.

The SOCOTEC Asbestos team holds UKAS accreditation for both Inspection and Testing and is one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the UK. We provide all aspects of asbestos consultancy services, ensuring clients are better equipped to comply with current legislation. These services include surveying, lab analysis of samples, managing removal projects on the clients’ behalf, consultancy, policy reviews, action plans and training.

We operate out of six offices covering all areas of the UK and assist more than 300 clients on a variety of projects.
