SEND Teaching Assistants needed in Doncaster

Yorkshire and Humber. Contract. Salary: £89–£100 per day dependent on experience and qualifications. Full‑time agency role.

Teacher Active is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist day school in DN6. The school provides education for pupils aged 3–19 with severe learning difficulties, including a small group of Post‑16 learners based at an off‑site provision. Their ethos is rooted in creating personalised learning journeys that inspire, empower, and prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

The Role

• Supporting teachers in delivering tailored learning experiences that meet individual needs.
• Helping to create a respectful, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Assisting in implementing consistent behaviour management strategies.
• Working collaboratively with staff to share best practice and champion student progress.
• Demonstrating high standards of professionalism and care at all times.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people with severe learning difficulties.
• Experience supporting students with SEND on a 1:1 basis is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them to achieve their potential.
• Flexibility, resilience, and a commitment to professional growth.
