Clear Group is looking for a friendly, organised, and confident Assistant Account Handler to join our busy Self-Build Scheme team in Doncaster. You’ll be part of a small team supporting customers who are building, renovating, or converting properties.
The Self-Build Scheme provides insurance cover for building projects from start to finish
, including protection for the site, materials, and third‑party liabilities. You’ll be helping customers and brokers throughout the policy process, from initial enquiries to mid‑term adjustments, ensuring a smooth and professional service.
This role is customer-focused and administrative – no insurance experience is required, and full training will be provided.
What you’ll be doing
- Handling inbound phone calls, emails, and portal queries from customers and brokers.
- Supporting customers through the self‑build policy process, including mid‑term changes and extensions.
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure customers receive a smooth service.
- Carrying out general administrative tasks to keep the scheme running efficiently.
- Supporting marketing activity, including trade shows and events, over time.

You thrive on delivering excellent service and keeping processes running smoothly, whether you’re supporting a customer over the phone, assisting a broker, or managing administrative tasks. You’re comfortable working in a fast‑paced, varied environment and stay calm, organised, and professional even when things get busy.
You take ownership of enquiries, see tasks through to completion, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to achieve great results. You’re adaptable, resilient, and motivated by contributing to a team and creating a positive experience for everyone you interact with.
