Security Guard - Front Door

Located in the former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha offers seven restaurants, 90 bedrooms, event venues, and Ned’s Club, a private members’ club that gives access to spaces including a rooftop terrace, a health club with spa, gym and 30m outdoor pool.

The Front Door Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a secure and welcoming environment at the hotel’s main entrance. This role combines access control duties with guest service ensuring smooth baggage screening, greeting and assisting hotel guests, and recognizing regular visitors and Ned Doha Club Members. The position requires professionalism, attentiveness, and excellent guest interaction skills while ensuring that safety and security protocols are always upheld.

• Welcome all hotel guests, visitors, and Ned Club members warmly and courteously.
• Recognize and acknowledge returning guests and club members to ensure a personalized experience.
• Assist guests with directions or inquiries and coordinate with Front Office, Concierge, or Valet when necessary.
• Maintain a professional and polished appearance at all times as a brand ambassador of The Ned Doha.
• Ensure the front door and lobby entrance are always clean, organized, and unobstructed.

• Operate and monitor baggage scanners and walk‑through metal detectors to ensure guest safety.
• Politely guide guests and visitors through screening procedures while maintaining a welcoming demeanour.
• Prevent entry of unauthorized individuals, suspicious persons, or prohibited items into the hotel premises.
• Immediately report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the Duty Manager or Security Supervisor.

• Remain alert and attentive to any unusual behaviour or potential security risks around the entrance area.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms as per hotel procedures.
• Support the Emergency Response Team in case of fire, evacuation, or medical emergencies.
• Ensure the fire exits near the main lobby are unobstructed and all safety devices are operational.

• Maintain effective communication with CCTV operators, Valet, Concierge, and Lobby teams.
• Record and report all incidents, irregularities, or lost‑and‑found cases to the Security Office.
• Assist in managing guest and visitor flow during VIP movements or special events.
• Perform daily checks on the baggage scanner, walk‑through metal detector, and other safety systems to ensure functionality.

• Support lobby operations during busy check‑in/out periods as required.
• Follow grooming and conduct standards aligned with The Ned Doha’s brand and service values.
• Carry out other assignments as directed by the Security Supervisor or Manager.

• Previous experience as a Security Guard, Doorman, or Front Door Security Officer in a 5‑star hotel or luxury environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional, alert, and confident demeanor.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Knowledge of basic security procedures and emergency protocols.
• Security training certification or license is an advantage.
