We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our wood manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all production activities to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- • Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer and business demands.
- • Supervise and coordinate activities of production staff, including carpenters, machine operators, and assemblers.
- • Ensure efficient utilization of machinery, materials, and manpower.
- • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to maintain output and quality targets.
- • Identify process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- • Maintain inventory of raw materials and coordinate with the procurement team for timely supply.
- • Work closely with quality control to ensure products meet required specifications.
- • Prepare and maintain production reports and documentation.
- • Lead training and development efforts for production team members.
- • Develop and manage department budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- • Forecast production demands and plan capacity requirements accordingly.
- • Oversee the implementation of ERP/MRP systems for production tracking and planning.
- • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships related to outsourced fabrication or finishing work.
- • Conduct root cause analysis on production failures and implement corrective actions.
- • Evaluate and select appropriate tools, equipment, and technologies to improve production capability.
- • Support audits and certification processes (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, AWS) to maintain industry compliance.
- • Communicate effectively with upper management regarding production performance, risks, and improvements.
- • Develop staffing plans and participate in hiring decisions for production personnel.
- • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production processes and outputs.
- • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence within the production team.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and any related field
- • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the wood or furniture industry
- • Proven leadership and team management skills.
- • Strong understanding of woodworking processes, machinery (CNC, saws, sanders, etc.), and material handling.
- • Experience in production planning and lean manufacturing practices.
- • Knowledge of quality control standards and health & safety regulations.
- • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software (e.g., ERP systems).
- • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
