Senior Virtualization & Containerization Expert Role Purpose

The Senior Virtualization & Containerization Expert will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization’s virtualization, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), private cloud, and container platforms.

The role will drive the transformation from legacy virtualization environments toward modern private cloud and Kubernetes-based platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and cost optimization across the data center infrastructure.

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise virtualization platforms across multiple data centers
• Lead adoption and optimization of Nutanix HCI (AHV) and private cloud architecture
• Manage and optimize existing VMware stack (vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, Horizon where applicable)
• Drive VMware exit or coexistence strategies where required
• Define capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management
• Design and implement private cloud platforms on HCI infrastructure
• Define infrastructure standards, automation frameworks, and governance models
• Support hybrid cloud integration (Azure/OCI/other if applicable)
• Ensure scalability, resilience, and cost optimization of infrastructure
• Lead deployment and operations of Kubernetes and Open Shift platforms
• Design and manage container platform architecture (bare metal or HCI)
• Implement multi-cluster, high availability, and DR designs
• Support CI/CD, Dev Sec Ops , and microservices enablement
• Manage container storage platforms (e.g., Portworx, ODF, Ceph)

• Ansible
• Nutanix automation tools
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and self-service provisioning

• Ensure virtualization and container platforms comply with:
• Security standards
• Regulatory requirements
• Internal governance frameworks
• Implement:
• RBAC
• Zero-trust principles
• Backup and DR strategies Operations & Governance
  • Provide L3/L4 technical leadership and escalation support
  • Define operational procedures, monitoring, and SLA frameworks
  • Support audits and compliance reviews
  • Work closely with:
  • Security teams
  • Application teams
  • Vendors and system integrators
  Vendor & Technology Strategy
  • Evaluate new technologies and define roadmap
  • Support RFPs, technical evaluations, and solution selection
  • Contribute to cost optimization and TCO reduction initiatives
  Required Technical Skills
  • Nutanix HCI & AHV (mandatory)
  • VMware vSphere, NSX, vSAN
  • Hypervisor performance tuning
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)
  • CI/CD integration
  Storage & Networking
  • SDS (Portworx, Ceph, Nutanix Storage)
  • Software-defined networking
  • Load balancers and ingress controllers
  Experience Required
  • 10+ years in infrastructure/virtualization engineering
  • 5+ years in Kubernetes/container platforms
  • Strong experience in Nutanix HCI and VMware enterprise environments
  • Experience in large enterprise/telco/banking environments
  • Proven track record in data center transformation or cloud migration
