Infrastructure Architect

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization's IT infrastructure architecture. Ensure that infrastructure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with the overall strategic objectives. Support the seamless integration of systems and subsystems, while maintaining high performance and operational efficiency.

Infrastructure Architecture Development

• Design and develop IT infrastructure architectures that meet current and future business needs.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the infrastructure to support the organization's objectives.
• Create and maintain standards for hardware, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.

Strategic Planning and Optimization

• Analyze and optimize existing infrastructure systems to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Develop long‑term strategies for infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, and technology adoption.
• Ensure alignment of infrastructure architecture with organizational goals and emerging technologies.

Integration and Interoperability

• Design and build robust integration layers to ensure seamless data propagation between systems and subsystems.
• Collaborate with application, data, and business architects to align infrastructure architecture with enterprise goals.
• Ensure compatibility and interoperability across internal systems and external vendor products.

Governance and Standards

• Establish and enforce infrastructure architecture standards, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
• Conduct regular reviews of infrastructure designs and configurations to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans in line with IT security standards.

Emerging Technologies and Innovation

• Stay updated on emerging infrastructure technologies, including cloud computing, virtualization, and containerization.
• Evaluate new technologies for potential adoption to enhance performance and operational efficiency.
• Implement cutting‑edge solutions to ensure the organization remains competitive and future‑ready.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement infrastructure projects successfully.
• Provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders, including compliance and audit teams.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

• Prepare detailed documentation for infrastructure designs, standards, and operational procedures.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date repository of infrastructure architecture artifacts and guidelines.
• Share knowledge and mentor team members on infrastructure architecture best practices.

Education

• University graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, design, and management.
• Proven track record of implementing large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Local Qatar knowledge and experience is a plus.

Certifications

• TOGAF certification is required.
• Additional certifications in ITIL, VMware, AWS, Azure, or Cisco technologies are a plus.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in designing and managing cloud and on‑premises infrastructure solutions.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with networking, storage, and compute technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, and scripting languages.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
• Proactive and self‑driven with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Language

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Tools and Methodologies

• Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools (Orbus iServer or others).
• Familiarity with Agile and Dev Ops practices.
• Experience with disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
• Knowledge of Qatar Enterprise Architecture GEA is a plus.
