Data Engineer; SQL

Summary

We are currently looking for Data Engineer (SQL) for our Qatar operations with the following terms & conditions. Seeking a Data Engineer / SQL Developer with 35 years of experience in advanced T‑SQL scripting database optimization and performance tuning using Microsoft Azure SQL and SQL Server. Ideal candidate has a track record of maintaining high‑performing databases troubleshooting queries and ensuring data reliability for business‑critical systems.

Joining time frame: 2 weeks (maximum 1 month)

• Design, maintain and optimize databases in Azure SQL and SQL Server.
• Write, refine and troubleshoot advanced T‑SQL queries, stored procedures and functions.
• Analyze execution plans, apply indexing strategies and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Verify query outputs by understanding business objectives and ensuring data accuracy.
• Manage backups, security configurations and user access controls.
• Leverage Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Document database structures, configurations and performance improvements thoroughly.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting tools for proactive performance management.
• Implement security and compliance measures across database environments.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and other stakeholders to ensure seamless database integration.
• Use Git & Azure Dev Ops for version control adhering to best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 35 years of SQL development experience with a strong focus on T‑SQL and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Azure SQL and SQL Server administration.
• Proven ability to debug and optimize complex queries, stored procedures and functions.
• Experience using Git for source control and team collaboration.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to thorough documentation.
• Basic reading and understanding of Arabic is preferred.
