Job SummaryThe AV Multimedia Specialist is responsible for the operation, maintenance, content deployment, and technical support of audiovisual and multimedia systems in exhibitions, galleries, theaters, and public spaces. The role supports immersive visitor experiences by ensuring reliable performance of interactive media, digital displays, and multimedia installations in line with standards and Qatar regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and support AV and multimedia systems across permanent and temporary exhibitions.
- Manage multimedia playback systems, interactive installations, and digital content delivery platforms.
- Support AV systems including:
- Digital signage, video walls, and LED displays
- Projection and immersive media systems
- Interactive touchscreens, kiosks, and sensor-based exhibits
- Audio systems for galleries, theaters, and public spaces
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and first-line troubleshooting of AV equipment.
- Coordinate content updates, scheduling, and testing with curatorial and exhibition teams.
- Support exhibition installations, changeovers, and de-installation activities.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover of new AV and multimedia systems.
- Maintain accurate records including content logs, maintenance reports, and fault registers.
- Liaise with external vendors and system integrators for specialized support when required.
- Ensure compliance with museum operational procedures, HSE requirements, and AV best practices.
- Provide on-site technical support during events, special programs, and VIP visits.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Multimedia, Media Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in AV or multimedia roles, preferably in museums, galleries, cultural venues, or public attractions.
- Hands‑on experience with interactive and multimedia-based exhibition environments.
- Familiarity with media servers, playback software, and content management systems.
- Basic understanding of AV control systems and networking.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills.
- Good understanding of multimedia formats, codecs, and playback systems.
- Ability to work in a live public environment with minimal disruption.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a visitor‑experience‑focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- AVIXA CTS (or working toward certification)
- Media server or multimedia software certifications (e.g., Watchout, Q-SYS, Bright Sign – added advantage)
- Occasional evening, weekend, or event‑based support as required.
