Overview
Black & Grey HR is recruiting for an established technology solutions and services provider in Doha, Qatar. Our client is seeking an experienced Access Control System (ACS) Consultant to lead the design, integration, and delivery of enterprise-grade smart access control and physical security solutions across large, multi-function venues. This role plays a critical part in shaping secure, scalable, and future-ready ACS architectures integrated with wider smart venue ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities- ACS System Design & Consultancy
- Lead the conceptual, schematic, and detailed design of enterprise ACS solutions for large-scale, multi-venue environments.
- Develop technical solution guidelines, system architectures, technology selection, and design verification strategies.
- Conduct business requirements analysis, site surveys, risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Oversee detailed solution designs including floor plans, device layouts, wiring diagrams, network topologies, and integration schematics.
- Define access hierarchies, zone-based access logic, visitor management workflows, and dynamic event-based access scenarios.
- Ensure solutions comply with applicable industry standards, best practices, and local regulatory requirements.
- Design future-proof, scalable, and interoperable ACS architectures.
- Integration & Implementation
- Oversee installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of ACS hardware and software.
- Develop transition and migration plans for upgrading legacy systems to new ACS solutions.
- Define and manage integration strategies with:
- CCTV and video surveillance systems
- Gate barriers and toll gates including ANPR systems for staff, VIP, and service vehicles
- Turnstiles and credentialing systems; alarms, intrusion detection, fire safety, and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- AI platforms, dashboards, and analytics tools
- Validate access control logic, credential workflows, and system interoperability through testing and operational simulations.
- Project Management
- Lead ACS projects end-to-end, from design through commissioning.
- Manage schedules, resources, budgets, risks, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including contractors, system integrators, IT teams, and venue operations.
- Interface with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
- Prepare commissioning documentation, risk assessments, quality assurance reports, and handover packages.
- Support vendor evaluation, procurement, and quality control of ACS components.
- Technical Support & Lifecycle Management
- Develop health check, performance monitoring, and system optimization guidelines.
- Define preventive maintenance strategies and lifecycle management plans.
- Deliver training and consultancy to security and IT teams on ACS operations and best practices.
- Recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and design improvements to improve reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in ACS system design, consultancy, and integration.
- Proven track record delivering ACS solutions for large, complex, multi-function venues.
- Strong experience integrating ACS with CCTV, gate barriers, toll gates, ANPR, turnstiles, BMS, and related systems.
- Demonstrated project management experience in multidisciplinary physical security deployments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Security Technology, or Information Systems.
- Advanced coursework in Security Systems Design is preferred.

- Gallagher Command Centre Advanced Certification
- Honeywell Pro-Watch Certified Engineer
- HID Global PACS / Mobile Access Certification
- Hands-on expertise with Lenel
S2, Genetec, Gallagher, Honeywell, Avigilon, and HID Global. - Strong knowledge of communication protocols: OSDP, Wiegand, RS-485, TCP/IP, PoE.
- In-depth understanding of credential technologies: MIFARE, DESFire EV3, HID Seos, biometrics, and mobile credentials.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and low-voltage drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio for ACS layouts and technical documentation.
