About the Role

Plays a pivotal role in preparing Nationals to become high‑performing professionals within Qatar Airways Group. Acting as both mentor and career steward, the Coach ensures that graduates progress through the structured Graduate Development Programme (GDP), gaining the technical, professional, and leadership competencies required to succeed. The role bridges strategic workforce development objectives with day‑to‑day coaching and performance monitoring, ensuring Nationals are aligned with business needs while also receiving tailored guidance and support.

Operational Duties
  • Shape and embed a coaching culture by introducing modern coaching methodologies, frameworks, and digital tools that strengthen leadership capability and drive behavioural change among national talent.
  • Design innovative development approaches such as group coaching, peer learning circles, and experiential learning modules to accelerate the growth and readiness of National talent in alignment with the nationalisation strategy.
  • Influence strategic decision‑making by translating coaching insights and workforce data into actionable recommendations that inform succession planning, talent mobility, and long‑term workforce planning.
  • Establish governance, standards, and measurement mechanisms for coaching and development programs, ensuring consistency, quality assurance, and alignment with organisational KPIs and nationalisation objectives.
  • Champion cultural transformation by acting as a thought partner to leaders, promoting accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning, and fostering a high‑performance mindset within the national talent community.
  • Align the development of Nationals with the organisation’s Nationalisation strategy and long‑term talent pipeline objectives. Translate corporate workforce requirements into structured development pathways that develop Nationals for critical roles.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador, embedding Qatari values, organisational culture, and professional standards into graduate development.
  • Serve as the primary coach for the Nationals, oversee the graduates' rotations, career development, and competency acquisition.
  • Set clear learning objectives, milestones, and performance expectations for each graduate in alignment with programme phases.
  • Monitor and assess Nationals’ progress through structured feedback, reports, and regular review meetings.
  • Identify performance gaps early and work collaboratively with Nationals, line managers, and trainers to implement development interventions.
  • Support Nationals in building professional networks, gaining exposure to key projects, and understanding career pathways within the Group.
  • Facilitate workshops, career development sessions, and one‑to‑one coaching conversations to accelerate professional readiness.
  • Partner with the Program Managers, business leaders, Retention Department, and relevant HR Departments to ensure Nationals’ learning experiences are tied to strategic capabilities needed for future growth.
  • Provide insights on Nationals performance and progression trends to shape programme design, structure, and duration (e.g., 2‑year phased model).
  • Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree qualified.
  • Minimum 8 years of job‑related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent development, graduate programmes, or coaching.
  • Certified Professional Coach (ICF, EMCC, or equivalent internationally recognised coaching certification) — mandatory.
