Organization - Andaz Doha Summary
Team Leader – Accounting. Supervisor of daily operations for accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), or General Cashiering, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies and Qatari regulations.
Responsibilities- Supervise the daily operations of specific accounting functions, such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), or General Cashiering, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Review and verify daily hotel revenues, night audit reports and postings between the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Assist the Financial Controller with month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, including preparing accruals, prepayments and journal entries.
- Train, guide and mentor junior accounting clerks and cashiers, ensuring they strictly follow the hotel’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) and financial policies.
- Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card transactions and vendor statements, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with internal audit standards and local Qatari financial and tax regulations.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex billing inquiries, professionally resolving disputes with corporate clients, travel agents or suppliers. Prepare and distribute essential daily and weekly financial reports, such as the Daily Revenue Report and AR Aging reports, for management review.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–4 years in hotel accounting or finance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior clerk capacity.
- Technical
Skills:
High proficiency in hospitality financial systems (e.g., Sun Systems, Opera PMS, Micros POS) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. - Key Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and a solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
