The Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Private Banking is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding relationships with High Net Worth (HNW) clients, including ultra-high-profile individuals such as ruling family members and senior government officials. The role acts as a dedicated relationship manager and trusted advisor, providing a "one-stop" private banking solution across domestic and international banking, investments, fiduciary services, and lending.
The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure priority service delivery, exceptional client experience, and sustainable growth in assets, liabilities, and revenues within the HNW segment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssess clients’ financial positions, investment objectives, and risk profiles to recommend appropriate banking and investment strategies.
Develop and execute strategies to achieve assigned volume, revenue, and profitability targets for the HNW private banking segment.
Implement and track KPIs and best practices aligned with private banking sales objectives.
Promote cost efficiency and productivity while optimizing commercial outcomes.
Operate within delegated authorities and ensure prudent decision-making.
Client Relationship ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for all private banking services for assigned HNW clients.
Deliver a highly personalized, discreet, and proactive service model tailored to individual client needs.
Grow clients’ asset and liability portfolios through cross-selling of investment, lending, and wealth solutions.
Conduct regular client visits to strengthen long-term relationships and enhance engagement.
Ensure client complaints and issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Market the institution’s full suite of private banking products and services to existing and prospective HNW clients.
Business Development & Cross-SellingIdentify and onboard new HNW clients through referrals, market intelligence, and proactive prospecting.
Expand wallet share by cross-selling a comprehensive range of credit, investment, and wealth management solutions.
Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape to position offerings effectively.
Provide market feedback and client insights to senior management to support product development and innovation.
Internal Coordination & Service DeliveryBuild strong working relationships with internal departments to ensure priority processing of HNW client requests.
Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to improve turnaround times and service quality.
Coordinate with operations, credit, investments, compliance, and risk teams to deliver seamless client solutions.
Support smooth implementation and launch of new products tailored to the HNW segment.
Processes, Governance & ComplianceEnsure compliance with approved policies and procedures for account opening, lending, and investment activities.
Provide accurate and timely information to auditors, compliance, risk, and financial control functions when required.
Maintain high standards of data protection, confidentiality, and information security.
Operate in full compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and internal policies, including AML, sanctions, data protection, fraud prevention, whistleblowing, conflict of interest, and insider dealing requirements.
Perform responsibilities in line with the Three Lines of Defence model and support operational risk frameworks (RCSA, KRIs, incident reporting, remediation).
Ensure fair client outcomes in accordance with conduct risk standards.
Learning & Professional DevelopmentMaintain strong technical knowledge of private banking products, services, risks, and controls.
Proactively pursue professional development to remain current with market trends, products, and regulations.
Complete all mandatory training and attend required internal and external seminars.
